The greatest power we humans have is the power to choose, to think rationally and make a choice (As Sheena Iyengar tells us in her book, The Art Of Choosing). Why don’t we exercise that power in the face of temptation? If you choose to get addicted, get addicted to something that enriches your life and the lives of those around you.
Temptations will not cease to exist because the world economy runs on addiction, but for every drug addict, there is a bookworm who can’t live without books; for every alcoholic, there is someone who eats, sleeps and breathes music; for every power-hungry, greedy maniac, there is someone ready to give up everything for love.
